Kathryn Krause, LPC
I believe that we all have the ability to make positive changes within our lives. When we are struggling within our relationships, with our work or with ourselves, we may not realize that we already have many of the tools we need to navigate difficult situations and feelings. Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, we can discover strategies to unlock these skills and alleviate stress. I strive to create a warm, empathic and collaborative environment to help clients uncover their strengths and make lasting change.
Areas of Expertise & Interest
I work with individuals and families who are experiencing difficult life transitions, depression, anxiety and grief and loss. I also work with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to resolve marital and relationship issues. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy depending on a client's goals and individual needs.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crafting and spending time with family.
Experience & Training
I earned my Master's degree in Community Counseling at National Louis University and completed my practicum at P.A.C.E, an alternative school for young adults. Post graduation, I have worked in managed care, social service agencies and as a hospice bereavement counseling fellow.
