Maddie Zimborski, LCPC
I believe in providing a therapeutic environment that is open, individualized and non-judgmental for clients to talk about their experiences, obstacles or barriers they are facing. My goal as a therapist is to work together with my clients to reach their identified goals. I believe that anyone who has the desire and willingness to seek out help during a difficult time in their lives shows qualities of bravery and courage. I recognize each client I work with as a unique individual and feel they deserve treatment that is tailored to meet their own needs.
Areas of Expertise & Interest
I enjoy working with older children, adolescents, young adults, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, executive functioning, and career or academic stressors. I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also use a variety of other therapies depending on the client’s goals or individual needs.
In my free time I enjoy reading, baking, exercising, and spending time with my family and friends.
Experience & Training
I am a licensed professional counselor. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin Parkside and continued on to earn my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. While completing my Master’s degree I did my practicum working with adults in a psychiatric hospital. Post-graduation I worked as a clinician in an intensive outpatient treatment center with young adult and adults. In this role I helped patients who were struggling with anxiety and depression as well as issues including life transitions, executive functioning, and career and academic stressors.
