Treatment Philosophy

I believe therapy should be a safe and supportive space where clients feel understood and accepted. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and choosing to seek support is often a meaningful and courageous first step toward change.

My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. I don’t view therapy as fixing something that is broken, but rather as a process of reconnecting with yourself, becoming more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and bodily experiences, and gently releasing patterns that may no longer serve you. I strive to create an open, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace, while building insight, resilience, and practical skills to support long term well-being.

  • I work with children, adolescents, and young adults who are experiencing a range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. My clinical work often focuses on concerns such as anxiety, depression, difficulties with anger and emotional regulation, trauma and PTSD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and challenges related to life transitions and adjustment. I also enjoy working with student athletes and individuals facing stress, performance anxiety, identity shifts, and other pressures that come with high expectation environments. Drawing from both my clinical training and personal experience as an athlete, I support clients in building emotional resilience, confidence, and coping skills that extend beyond performance and into daily life.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, painting, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, and spending time outdoors with my dog (Panini) on local trails.

  • I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Econometrics from Northwestern University, where I also competed as an NCAA Division I varsity golfer. I later completed my Master of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. I have worked in a children’s psychiatric hospital, public school settings, and community-based environments, supporting individuals and families. I use an integrative, evidence-based approach that may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and mindfulness-based strategies. When working with younger children, I incorporate play, art, and creative or interest-based approaches to support engagement and expression.

Having been born in China and moving to the United States at age 14, I bring a strong appreciation for cultural identity and transition into my work. I am committed to providing culturally responsive care that honors each client’s background and lived experience.
