Alchemical Couples Therapy: A Depth Psychological Perspective

Presented by Dr. Lisa Roth, PhD, LCPC

  • About the Training:

    This 2.5-hour training explores couples therapy with a depth psychological perspective using Jung’s alchemical process as a container for couple’s therapy work. Participants will learn about the stages of the alchemical process, how it lends itself to couple’s work and how to integrate this frame with other therapeutic modalities.

    By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

    1. Describe the psychological alchemical progress as it applies to couple’s therapy.

    2. Explain the stages of the Jung’s alchemical process.

    3. Apply principles to couple’s work to expand expertise and to integrate depth psychological practices.

    About Our Presenter:

    Dr. Lisa Roth is a depth psychologist, expressive arts therapist, death doula, and therapeutic trainer/facilitator who has been working in the field for 26 years in various roles, venues and organizations.

    Dr. Roth is a proponent and trainer for trauma-informed care and has worked exclusively with the Sanctuary model, creating psychological safe spaces for clients, clinicians, community partners and stakeholders. She is currently creating an expressive arts group facilitation manual for practitioners and community leaders.

  • Target Audience:

    Intermediate to advanced. Appropriate for mental health professionals with foundational clinical experience seeking a new way to view, practice and hold the work of couple’s therapy. You do not need to be a couple’s therapist to attend.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Trauma Survivors with PTSD

  • Please join us for an in-person comprehensive training regarding the use of Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy. This training will cover everything you need to know to begin implementing PE techniques effectively in your practice.

    At the conclusion of this training:

    • Participants will be able to appreciate varied definitions of trauma

    • Participants will be able to identify common reactions to trauma

    • Participants will be able to describe the natural recovery processes from trauma

    • Participants will be able to identify common challenges to the natural recovery process following trauma

    • Participants will be able to define posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

    • Participants will be able to describe the core elements of prolonged exposure (PE) therapy for PTSD

    • Participants will be able to summarize the efficacy and effectiveness of PE for PTSD
